Hello friends!
I'm Gayle, I love making things and I'm so pleased you stopped by.
One of my earliest memories is of my three year old self, happily drawing patterns at my grandparents B&B and being asked if I was going to go to Art School when I was older. I suppose the suggestion took root, as many years later I did indeed spend several brilliant years at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating at the turn of the millennium with a BA Hons in Visual Communication.
Whilst life led me to a career in administrative roles for charities, and my far more important (and challenging, and rewarding, and wonderful) role as mum to my four phenomenal children, finding outlets for creativity is something I've always craved. Photography for bands and friends' weddings; making and selling polymer clay jewellery, baby taggy toys and bunting at craft fayres; gifting hampers of homemade fudge and flavoured spirits to family; going all out on treasure hunts, hand-crafted pinatas, themed games and epic cakes for my kids birthday parties.. if there was any excuse to fling myself into some arty crafty project, I would do so with glee!
For as long as I can remember, I've made cards for loved ones. My dear parents must have piles of them stashed away in boxes! And for almost as long as I've been making them, I've been told 'You should sell these!' or 'You could do this as a job, Gayle!'. And, for as long as I've been hearing this, I've been dismissing the notion as family and friends just being kind. However, between the ever present urge to create, and life throwing some pretty major moments at me, now I find myself ready to do just that. With the loving and persistent support and encouragement of my magnificent other half, I now find myself with a brand new little business, and a brand new little website, with some brand new greetings cards all printed and ready for sale!
This is just the beginning, of what I hope will become an outlet for many, many more card designs and all manner of crafted goods.
